Peirce Engineering provided design calculations and working drawings for a temporary excavation support system required for construction of the University of Pennsylvania George A. Weiss Pavilion at Franklin Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The temporary excavation support system consisted of cantilevered, driven soldier beams and timber lagging, for 621 feet along the North Driveway. In addition, Peirce Engineering provided design calculations and working drawings for a permanent soil nail wall for construction of the University of Pennsylvania George A. Weiss Pavilion at Franklin Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The permanent wall is approximately 18 feet high and is located beneath the existing stadium structure.
